Memories of 2013 part 2: the return of the snark, and…

The first round of the comical short, Senyuu, was an absolute riot to me. It all came down to the double act that the Hero Alba and the Soldier Ross had going. It wasn’t quite the Japanese version, the tsukkomi (straight man) and boke (idiot) routine, because Ross was just being snarky rather than idiotic – though that’s not to say that other characters didn’t take the idiot role – but this kind of interaction is definitely funnier to me. Poor Alba, you could say, but going by the end of the second cour, I think he rather enjoyed it as well!

Anyways, this moment arises because plot developments separated Alba and Ross at the end of the first cour, robbing us viewers of their wonderful interactions. Senyuu didn’t feel like Senyuu anymore – it was way too serious! But then, thankfully…

it returned!!

Admittedly, that was just the lull before they ripped my heart out completely.

But the hope for a third season of Senyuu will keep me going! Either that, or the comic itself will ^^
